Jan Grimes, BS, MA, Communications serves as Director of Strategic Development for Strategic Health Care Solutions (SHCS). A proven innovator and a proven leader in developing strategic alliances, Jan guides marketing and builds relationships with clients and within the Health Care Industry.
Prior to joining SHCS, Jan was the Executive Director of the Illinois Home Care and Hospice Council (IHHC) and served on the board of the national Council of State Home Care Associations. Jan was honored as the 2017 recipient of IHHC’s prestigious Helen Heyrman Award for her dedication to advancing the interests of the Home Care and Hospice industry in Illinois. In 2014-2015 she led an initiative to develop a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on Palliative Care that became one of four national winners of an Innovations Grant from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). The MOOC was produced in collaboration with U of I, SIU School of Medicine and the Illinois Hospital Association, and won the Innovative Initiative Award from the Illinois Council on Continuing and Higher Education.
Jan also formerly directed the state’s award-winning organ donor program. For nearly 25 years, she held leadership positions in state government where she was director of two State Agencies. Jan earned a BS in Communications from the University of Illinois, and an MA from the University of Illinois-Springfield. She is a past president of the Springfield Chapter of the Association of Women in Communications, which honored her with the 2011 Professional Communicator Award, which noted her impact in the community as a communications leader, innovator and mentor.
